1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using Lettervolt ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.
2. Description of the App
Lettervolt is an offline word game for iOS. The App provides single-player gameplay in two modes (Classic and Endless), where players form words by connecting letters arranged in a circle. The App operates entirely offline and does not require an internet connection or user account.
3. License
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download and use the App on any Apple device that you own or control, in accordance with Apple's App Store Terms of Service.
4. Intellectual Property
The App contains both original and third-party content:
- Original content — including game design, visual assets, user interface, source code, and level data — is the property of the App's developer and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
- Third-party content:
- Background music and certain sound effects are sourced from Pixabay (pixabay.com) under the Pixabay Content License, which permits free commercial use without attribution.
- The word dictionary is derived from the ENABLE word list (Enhanced North American Benchmark Lexicon) by Alan Beale and Mendel Leo Cooper, which is in the public domain. The word list included in this App is a filtered subset of the original and remains freely redistributable in accordance with the original public domain terms.
All third-party assets are used in compliance with their respective license terms. All content is integrated into the App as a unified product.
You may not:
- Copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on the App or any of its content.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to extract the source code of the App.
- Extract, isolate, or use the App's content (music, sound effects, graphics, game data) separately from the App.
- Remove, alter, or obscure any proprietary notices in the App.
- Redistribute any of the App's audio assets, whether original or third-party licensed.
5. User Conduct
When using the App, you agree not to:
- Attempt to manipulate game scores, outcomes, or progress through unauthorized means.
- Use automated tools, scripts, or bots to interact with the App.
- Exploit bugs, glitches, or unintended features for unfair advantage.
- Attempt to circumvent the App's screenshot protection or other security features.
6. Game Data
All game progress, scores, and settings are stored locally on your device. You are responsible for your own device and data. We do not have the ability to back up, restore, or recover your game data. Resetting your progress within the App or uninstalling the App will permanently delete your game data.
7. Updates
We may release updates to the App from time to time, which may include new features, bug fixes, or content changes (such as updated levels or dictionaries). Updates may be delivered through the Apple App Store. We are not obligated to provide any updates, and we reserve the right to modify or discontinue the App at any time without notice.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
The App is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis, without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that:
- The App will meet your specific requirements.
- The App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of security vulnerabilities; and if the App uses network features, we do not guarantee that the transmissions will be secure.
- The results obtained from the use of the App will be accurate or reliable.
- Any defects in the App will be corrected.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall the developer of Lettervolt be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or other intangible losses, arising out of or in connection with your use of or inability to use the App.
Since the App is free, operates offline, does not collect personal data, and does not process financial transactions, total liability for any direct damages shall not exceed the amount (if any) you paid for the App.
10. Third-Party Terms
Your use of the App is also subject to Apple's App Store Terms of Service. In the event of a conflict between these Terms and Apple's terms, Apple's terms shall prevail with respect to your use of the Apple platform.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the developer of Lettervolt from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorney's fees) arising out of your violation of these Terms or your misuse of the App.
12. Termination
You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it from your device. We reserve the right to discontinue or modify the App at any time. These Terms will remain in effect as long as you use the App.
13. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
14. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Mexico, without regard to conflict of law principles. If you are a consumer, you may also have rights under the mandatory laws of your country of residence, and these terms do not exclude your rights.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this document. Your continued use of the App after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
